Obituary: Mr. Howard Ray Overcash, 83, of 911 N. Juniper Ave., Kannapolis died at his home on March 11, 2011 after a brief illness. Mr. Overcash was born in Rowan County on July 24, 1927, the son of the late Purlee Britton Overcash and the late Gracie Keller Overcash. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Broadway Overcash. Mr. Overcash was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Kannapolis for 60 years.He loved doing God's willand enjoyed talking to people about God's promises for the future.He never met a stranger and was always ready to share a joke or riddle.He was a fixer with Cannon Mills Co. almost 50 years and after his retirement, he worked at A&P and Food Lion. He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and racing and all the "boy things" and dearly loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his son: Kelly Overcash of China Grove, NC and his daughter, Patricia O. James and husband, Claude of Yadkinville, NC and by 5 grandchildren;Cody Overcash, Aaron Spivey, Allison Grose, Lauren Callahan and Ashley James.Also, by 9 great grandchildren and three brothers; Glenn Overcash, Leon Overcash and Marvin Overcash. A memorial service for Mr. Overcash will be held at, the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 2P.M., Saturday, March 19, 2011 conducted by Minister Willie Chambers.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at The Kingdon Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kannapolis, NC.

Interment: Carolina Mem. Park.
