Obituary: Concord - Hoyle S. Tucker, 86, of 307 Fisher Street Concord, NC died Thursday May 28, 2009 at his home. He was born July 10, 1922 in Stanly County, the son of the late Eustus and Nellie Love Tucker. He was preceded in death by his wife Joicy "Faye" Tucker in 2006. He had retired from Cannon Mills Co Plant 4 after 50 years of service. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army 1st Calvary Division in the Asiatic Pacific Theater where he earned 4 bronze stars and a purple heart. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Robert Howard. His funeral will follow at 2:00 PM Saturday at Whitley's Main Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. At other times they will be at the home. He is survived by 3 sons: Richard H. (Carolyn) Tucker of Mt. Ulla, David S. (Brenda) Tucker of Rockwell and Steven L. (Karen) Tucker of Concord, 10 grandchildren and 11 great -grandchildren, and a sister Elvia Tucker of Concord. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Cabarrus County for their love and care shown to Hoyle and the family.
