Obituary: Hubert Lee Kidd, 83, of 2304 Ellerbe Drive, Kannapolis died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at the Brian Center. He was born August 12, 1927 in Comer, Georgia, the son of the late Holly Lee Kidd and Julia Lee Martin Kidd. He was preceded in death by his wife, Retha Rowland Kidd in 1992. He retired from Fieldcrest-Cannon Inc. He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and loved to fish. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Grace Covenant Church officiated by Rev. Glynn Weatherby and Bo Sherrill (Interpreter). Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Beaver (Dale) of Kannapolis, 2 grandchildren Jennifer Collins (Jesse) and David White (Lisa), 5 great-grandchildren: Madison, Gavin, Aidan, Keegan and Morrison.
