Hugh Dillard Hardy

Obituary: Hugh Dillard Hardy, 53, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2015 while at his workplace. Death was unexpected. Hugh was born June 24, 1962 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Joseph Taylor Hardy and the late Corrine Thomas Hardy. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Reba Jo Hardy and a brother, Steven Taylor Hardy. Hugh was of the Baptist Faith. He was a 1980 graduate of A.L. Brown High School. He was employed as production manager at Henkel Corporation (a division of the former National Starch and Chemical Company) where he had worked for 30 years. Hugh enjoyed restoring old cars and trucks. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was known as a man whom would help anyone at anytime. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 29, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Dale Jenkins. Interment will follow Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Karen Hallman Hardy, one son, Adam Hardy of Kannapolis, one daughter, Lindsey Hardy of Kannapolis, two brothers, Kenneth Hardy of Kannapolis and John Handy of Texas. He is also survived by his canine companion "Lucky".
