Obituary: Hulene Freeze Morgan of Knollwood Drive, Kannapolis, N.C. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis after a brief period of declining health. Mrs. Morgan, a lifelong resident of Kannapolis, is survived by her son, Dan, and was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Morgan, to whom she was married for 59 years. She was the daughter of Violet and Carl Freeze. Mrs. Morgan was born on September 24, 1932. She was a graduate of J.W. Cannon High School. She began her long career at Cannon Mills Company in 1952 where she was the receptionist at the company's main offices. In 1986, she was named director of the Cannon Mills Visitor Center where she coordinated the tour program for the company's manufacturing facilities and coordinated the Company's art gallery which showcased artists from throughout the area. She later became Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Cannon Village and Atlantic American Properties where she worked until her retirement in 1998. She continued to work part time, coordinating special events at Pity's Sakes Lodge and the Kannapolis Country Club. Mrs. Morgan was a member of the UNC Rams Club. She strongly supported both the academics and sporting activities of the University. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Mrs. Morgan will be remembered for her love of her hometown, her talent as an interior decorator, her longstanding devotion to the UNC Tar Heels, and her love for Old Salem and Colonial Williamsburg. A private burial service will be held in Chapel Hill, N.C. Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to the following organizations: First Presbyterian Church of Charlotte, 200 W.
