Ida Blondine Puckett

Obituary: Ida Blondine Puckett, 93, of Kannapolis died January 9, 2011 in Arizona. She was born October 27, 1917 in Comer, Ga., the daughter of the late Dupree and Bertie Martin Sexton. She was the oldest of nine children. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude Puckett in 1980 and an infant daughter Claudette Larue Puckett. She retired from Cannon Mills where she had worked at Plant 1 # 6 Weave room for over 42 years. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in China Grove. She enjoyed cooking for the family, canning, fishing and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Steve Sexton. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday prior to the service. She is survived by her daughter Nancy P. Davis (Ted) of Kannapolis, her son Jerry Wayne Puckett of Arizona, her brother Jack Sexton of Kannapolis , 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Freewill Baptist Church, 405 N. Bostian Street China Grove, NC 28025.
