Imogene Brown Francis

Obituary: Mrs. Imogene Reid Brown Francis, 81, of 6340 Miller Rd. died at CMC-NorthEast in Concord on September 13, 2012. Mrs. Francis was born on September 5, 1931 in Cabarrus Co., the daughter of the late Smith W. Brown and the late Grace Martin Brown. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Francis who died on May 23, 2004; her daughter, Beth Walker; a sister, Romain Gribble and a brother, J.C. Brown. Mrs. Francis was a life-long resident of this area and was a member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She retired as a counselor with Mecklenburg County. Survivors include her 3 sons, Tom Francis of Allen TX, Jeff Francis (Donna) and Robert Francis both of Kannapolis; her 2 daughters, Teresa Childers and Jane Francis both of Kannapolis; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters, Hazel Belk, Kathleen Hall and Mary Walters. The funeral for Mrs. Francis will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday (tonight) at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. Tom Cabaniss. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7:00 p.m. before the service. Burial will take place at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Carolina Mem. Park. Visitation: 5-7:00 p.m. before the service.

Service: 7 p.m., Sunday (tonight) at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.
