Ina Belle Garrison Ruff

Obituary: Ina Belle Garrison Ruff, 98, of Bessemer City and formerly of Kannapolis, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Gastonia Healthcare and Rehabilitation facility after a period of declining health. Born May 18, 1916 in Baldwin, Ga., she was the daughter of the late William David Garrison and Mamie Sheridan Garrison. She was also predeceased by her spouse, James E. Ruff, Sr., three brothers and three sisters. She was formerly employed with Cannon Mills as a sweeper. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 24th at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 9 PM at her daughter's home, 101 Ruby Lane, Bessemer City. Survivors include her son, James (Jim) E. Ruff, Jr. and spouse, Mary, her daughter, Ebbie Jo Ruff, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Gastonia Healthcare and Gaston Hospice who assisted in taking care of Ina the last few months.
