Iolanda Moore

April 25, 1936 — February 12, 2016

Obituary: Iolanda "Lolly" Marianna Conte Moore, 79, peacefully passed away at her home with her family by her side on Friday, February 12, 2016, following an extended illness with Alzheimer's. Born April 25, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Silvio Giuseppe and Berta Hulin Conte. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Dean Cromer, six brothers and two sisters. Lolly was born in Wuppertal, Germany, and was a small child during WWII. During the war, to escape the bombing, her father moved the family to his native land of San Gottardo, Vicenza, Italy. She came to America in 1958 and received her U.S. Citizenship/Certificate of Naturalization on February 8, 19165. She worked hard to become an American citizen, learning to fluently speak English. She married Jessie Steve Moore, her husband of 47 years, on March 15, 1969. Lolly worked as a waitress for 30 years, primarily at the Western Sizzlin Steakhouse, where she was known and loved by many. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. She was a woman of great faith and loved her Lord with all of her heart. Serving Him faithfully her whole life, she witnessed to one and all everywhere she went, simply asking with great love and sincerity, "Do you know Jesus?" Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jessie Steve Moore; her daughters Paula Dial and Franca Moore Landreth and husband Steve, both of Kannapolis; her sister, Teresa Conte Conley, of Augusta, GA; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Concord First Assembly, Suite 15, 280 Concord Parkway North, Concord, NC 28025.
