Ira David Mauldin, Sr.

Ira David Mauldin, Sr. 78 of Concord went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Atrium Health Northeast Medical Center following a period of declining health. 

Ira was born April 29, 1946, in Cabarrus County, N.C. and was raised by his grandparents, the late Jessie Ray Mauldin, and Dorothy Melissa Gray Mauldin whom he considered his parents. Ira was proceeded in death by siblings. 

Funeral services for Ira will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Steve Scarborough. The Elder Tom Robinson will do closing prayer at the graveside. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

 Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Patricia S. Mauldin of the home; children, Melissa King (Johnny) Ira David Maudlin, Jr. (Wendy) of Concord, sister, Judy Wyrick of China Grove: grandchildren; Brittney Hudson (Chris), Kurt, Hunter and Mackenzie Mauldin, great grandchild, Calle Hudson. 

Ira was a member of First Assembly Church, he worked with Western Electric, AT&T and had retired from TelWare Commutations. He enjoyed hunting, golf and racing as well as tinkering with motors. He and his family enjoyed traveling. He was President of the Riptide Beach Club.
