Irene Haney Williams

Obituary: Irene Haney Williams, of Kannapolis, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Five Oaks Manor after a period of declining health. Irene was born in Union Co., the daughter of the late Eustace and Wilma Davis Haney. She worked for Fieldcrest Cannon, Plant 1 sewing room for 31 years, retiring in 1995. Irene was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and was active in their senior citizen club. She was a good cook and loved to watch NASCAR races, Dale and Dale Jr. were her guys. Irene was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyle W. Williams and her 3 brothers, Chesley and Marvin and Earl Haney. Her funeral will be held at Memorial Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 27, with Rev. Jason Barber officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 12:30 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Wood of Mooresville, her grandson Tanner Wood and wife, Jennifer, 2 great grandsons, Aidan and Liam, and 2 brothers; Wilson Haney of Charlotte, James Lynn Haney of Belmont.
