Obituary: Irma Caban Rosario, 84, of Kannapolis and formerly of the Bronx, NY, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Big Elm Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a period of declining health. She was born February 18, 1928 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Bartolo and Filomena Rivera Caban. She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Bronx, NY and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling and was a loving mother and wife to her family. Her primary goal in life was to circle her family with love. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gilberto Rosario of Kannapolis, two sons, Ricardo Rosario, New Windsor, NY, and Ruben (Crissy) Rosario of Concord, one sister, Olga Ruiz of Ormond Beach, Fla., ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral mass will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 18, 2013 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church conducted by Fr. James H .Geiger, C.Ss.R. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. At other times they will be at their respective residences.
