Iron (Ij) Bare

Obituary: Iron Junior Bare (I.J.), 80 passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Bare was born September 14, 1934 in West Jefferson, NC to the late Iron J. Bare Sr. and Edna Severt Bare. He served two years in the Army Signal Corps. He moved to Kannapolis in 1962 after working in the copper mines of North Carolina. He was also of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Arlene Bare of Kannapolis, NC; two sons, Kenneth Bare ( Elaine) of Kannapolis, NC and Joseph Bare (Bria) of Naples Fl; four daughters, Teresa Miller of Salisbury, NC, Kathy Summer (Douglas) of Concord, NC, Tina Deal (Terry) of Kannapolis, NC and Lori Harwell (Jeff) of China Grove, NC; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Ray Bare (Brenda) of Kannapolis, NC; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. A funeral service will be held 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Robinette officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081.
