Obituary: JD Gunter, 90 formerly of Kannapolis, died Monday, April 16, 2012 in Johns Creek, GA. His death follows a period of declining health. Mr. Gunter was born in Gaffney, SC, the son of the late Mac Dennis and Bertha May White Gunter. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Loftin Gunter who died in 1999, and two sisters, Shirley Lodgins, and Hazel Lodgins, Mr. Gunter was a venture capitalist in real estate. He opened the first fish camp in Charlotte, owned the Belmont Bar & Grill, and at one time had eighty men working for him in his construction company in Miami, FLA. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Carolina Memorial Park with Pat Flood officiating. JD is survived by his daughter, Kay Rosenthal and husband Joseph of St. Petersburg, FL., a grandson, Charles "Chuck" Andrews Jr. of Ft.
