Obituary: Jack George King, Jr., 66, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his residence following a period of declining health. Jack was born February 9, 1948 in Cumberland County, Tenn. son of the late Jack George King, Sr. and the late Helen Gladys Lepley King. He was a member of Socrates Baptist Church in South Carolina. He was a self- employed church photographer for church directories for fifteen years. Jack was a veteran of the US Army serving Vietnam from 1965-1974. He enjoyed going to the coast, eating out with his family and fishing. Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 4, 2014 at the National Cemetery, Salisbury, Statesville Blvd. Annex conducted by Rev. Max Smith.. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Rowan County Honor Guard and the NC Army Guard. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Monday prior to the graveside service. At other times they will be at the residence. Jack is survived by his wife, Darlene Lovett King whom he married January 14, 1986, son, Seth Riley King of the home, two daughters, Samantha Edwards of Charlotte, Bobbie Jo King of Zepher Hills, Fla., one brother, William Vance King of Tampa, Fla., two sisters, Patricia Ann Quorrvo of Tampa, Fla .and Cora Mae Eaddington, of Moutarie, Ga., one grandson, J.C. Melton, two great grandchildren, Jason and Justin King and sister-in-law Janice Matthews of Cleveland, Tn. Memorials may be sent to Fifth-Third Bank, 139 S.
