Jackie Helms

Obituary: Jacqueline Moore Helms, 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Genesis Eldercare of Mooresville. Born January 15, 1926 in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Sarah "Sallie" Austin Helms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline Bowers, Evelyn Mincey, Mary Lee Hess and Johnnie Frye. She is survived by nieces and nephews: Pat Huffman (David) of Mooresville, Steve Frye of Iron Station, NC, Martha Mincey of Landis, Jean Chislaghi (Ron) of Mooresville, and Glen Bowers (Irma) of Texas, Libby Saunders of Charlotte, Cindy Bozenski (David) of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was employed by Cannon Mills in the sewing department until the mill closed and Cabarrus Hosiery Mill until her retirement. She will be remembered as a quiet, kind, loving person who loved her family and was there to help when needed. She cared for her aging parents for years which was very much appreciated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 21, at Carolina Memorial Park. The family would like to express their gratitude to Genesis Elder Care in Mooresville and Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County for all of their care and support.
