Obituary: - Jacqueline Elizabeth Yow Butler, age 79, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 31, 2011 at her home.She was born April 12, 1932 in Stanly County, NC, the daughter of the late Jack Henry Yow and Bessie Elizabeth Sells Yow.Jackie was employed at the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt. #1 #6 Weave Room for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Unity United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC where she was active with the nursery, senior citizens group (Come Alive), and the Morning Glories circle group of the church. She is fondly thought of as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed her family and friends.In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Butler, Sr. who died February of 2000; two brothers, Craven Lee Yow and Marvin Yow; and two sisters, Edith Lee and Helen Hinson.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Timothy Whittington. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis.Survivors include two daughters, Linda Walter & husband, Derle and Sandra Thompson & husband, Gilbert, both of Mooresville, NC; a son, Ralph Butler, Jr. of Kannapolis, NC; two granddaughters and seven grandsons; four great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters; and a sister, Colen Alexander of Kannapolis, NC.Memorials may be made to Unity United Methodist Church, % Building Fund, 8505 U nity Church Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.On-line condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
