James Stafford Ballou

Obituary: James Stafford Ballou, 85, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Ballou was born September 21, 1928 in Ashe County to the late Elmer W. and Bertha Mae Austin Ballou. James retired from Ballou and Reed Construction Company; was of the Baptist Faith; and always love to raise a big garden. Survivors include his son, Ron Ballou of Kannapolis; Ann Fisher (Jim) Kannapolis; two grandsons, Matt Fisher (Melisha) and John Fisher (Tina); two great grandchildren, Alexis Fisher and Addison Fisher; and a sister, Lucille Hagin. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Reed-McMillan Cemetery in Laurel Springs, NC. The family will receive friends 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Badger Funeral Home in West Jefferson. Memorials can be made to a charity of choice.
