James Arthur Bare, Jr.

Obituary: James Arthur Bare, Jr.,78, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Novant Rowan Medical Center. He had been seriously ill for six months. James was born March 5, 1938 in Guilford County, NC a son of the late of James Arthur Bare, Sr. and Eva Mae Hicks Bare. James was of the Baptist Faith. He was considered by his family to be a great husband, Dad, grandfather and great grandfather. In early life he was employed by Frito-Lay and later Family Dollar. He was lastly employed as a security guard. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth Winfree Bare of the home, two sons, Bruce Bare of the home, and Jimmy Bare (Donna) of Thomasville, four daughters, Lidia Shokes (Glenn) of Walterboro, NC, Teddie Bare of Thomasville, Sandra Wise (Billy) of Concord and Denise Branch of Trinity, NC. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 31 ,2016 at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove conducted by Rev. Chuck Overcash. Entombment will follow. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Thursday. At other times they will be at the residence.
