James Wayne (Jim) Brown, Sr.

Obituary: James (Jim) Wayne Brown, Sr., 62 of Shelby, formerly of Kannapolis passed away October 16, 2015. Jim was born January 22, 1953 in Wilkes County, NC. , the proud son of Novella Brown of North Wilkesboro, NC. He was a General Contractor and worked for himself for many years doing vinyl siding with his sons and brothers in the Kannapolis and Shelby area. He was a friend to many people in both areas and would always lend a helping hand to anyone he could. He loved to go fishing and would always have a great story to tell about his fishing adventures. Jim was a loving father and grandfather. Jim is preceded in death by his mother Novella Brown, son Daniel Robinson and grandson Dalton Brown, four sisters, Reba Deadmon and Kay Greene, Carol Smith and Vernelle Church, and two brothers, Roger Wagoner and Robert Wagoner. He was also preceded in death by Special Father Lonnie Simmons. Jim is survived by two sons, Jimmy Brown (Marie), and Shane Brown (Tracy) both of Kannapolis, eight grandchildren: Chasity, Drake, Drew, Alex, Jake, Devin, Kelsey and Kadyn. His Special Mother, Ina Simmons, nine sisters, Rebecca Blevins (Dewey), Sue Absher, Shirley Osborne (Robby), Sandra Stewart and Wanda Goode ( Gary) , Jeanne Shumate, Marlene Testerman (Jerry) and Linda Brown ( Chris ) and Connie Sparks ( Tim ). Seven brothers also survive Ray Greene, James Brown, and Danny Brown (Kathy), Fred Wagoner, Ricky Wagoner and Randy Wagoner (Libby) and Doug Simmons. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis with Funeral Services following at 7:00 P.M.in Whitley's Main Chapel with Pastor Dallas Dobson officiating. Burial will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Pine View Baptist Church Cemetery, 6435 Sparta Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
