James Lee Cavin, 95, of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
James was born on September 7, 1927 in Rowan County to the late Banks Young Cavin and Bessie Mae Cagle Cavin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Deal Cavin; three sisters, Edith Adams, Annie Wilhite, and Dorothy Bowen; and two brothers, Charles Cavin and Ballard Cavin.
James honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked as an operator for Cannon Mills for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time outside, especially working in his garden and mowing the grass. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Those left to cherish his memory include a son, James Richard Cavin and wife Regana; daughter, Debra Reene Cavin; grandchildren, Chris Cavin, Rocky Cavin, Reena Trimnal and husband Caleb; sister, Eleanor Smith; brothers, Banks Eugene Cavin and Wade Cavin. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Whitley’s Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Chewning officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.
