James Franklin Barton, Jr.

Obituary: James Franklin Barton, Jr., 73, of Kannapolis, went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2015 at CMC/NE after a period of declining health. He was born on March 31, 1942 in Elbert County Georgia to the late James Franklin Barton, Sr. and the late Gracie Lou Jordan Barton. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife; Lynn Dobria Barton of the home. Two daughters; Christal Dobria Barton (Dreven) of Kannapolis; Bianca Barton (Mike) of Charlotte. One son; James Franklin Barton, III of Washington DC. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Rivers, Camila, Chrislynn, Olivia. Private services will be held at a later date. The family will be at the family residence the rest of the time.
