Obituary: James William Hall, 77, of Kannapolis died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1934 in Elbert County, Georgia, the son of the late Lindsay and Cora Dickerson Hall. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Trull. He retired from A&P Stores as the meat department manager for many years and also worked part-time at Cruse's Meat Packing. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church.He loved gardening and being in the outdoors. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Jimmy Barnhill. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior at Whitley's. He is survived by his wife, Jean Phillips Hall, his son, Darrell Childers (Kathy) of Concord, three grandchildren, Carmen Childers of Wilmington, David Small and Amber Miller both of Kannapolis, a great grandchild, Callie Miller, two brothers, Edward Hall of Lakewood, NY and Gene Hall of Kannapolis, and his sister, Mary Waters of Fayetteville, Ga. and many nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1008 Moose Rd., Kannapolis, NC 28083 or to the charity of one's choice. Visitation: 11-12:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 12:00 noon, Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Interment: Carolina Mem. Park.
