Obituary: James "Jim" Tracey Hudson, 96, of Kannapolis died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Big Elm Nursing Center. He was born March 2, 1914 in Bladen County, NC, the son of the late Curtis David Hudson and Alice Gertrude Pittman Hudson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Polk Hudson and a grandson, Michael Todd Winecoff. In his earlier years, he co-owned/operated Hudson's Supermarket on Ridge Avenue in Kannapolis with his family. He then was the proprietor of Major League Lanes in Concord and then at Jackson Lanes in Kannapolis. He later owned /operated Nu Way Carpet Cleaning. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WW II. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was a member of the W.J. Bullock Sunday School class. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Sarah Weaver. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. He is survived by two sons, James Larry Hudson (Diane) of Statesville and Tracey Polk Hudson of Matthews, 2 grandchildren James Scott Hudson and Wendy Darne, five great-grandchildren: Christopher James Hudson, Abby Darne, James Tyler Winecoff, Ashley Paige and Wesley Kyle Harrington, his brother F. "Pete" Hudson of Kannapolis and his sister Margaret Sloop of Kannapolis. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 416 E. First St. Kannapolis, NC 28083.
