James Johnson Austin

James Johnson Austin, 44, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 12, 2021. Death was unexpected.

James was born December 26, 1976 in Rowan County, NC a son of Robert Hoyle Austin, Jr. of Pine Mountain, Ga. and Cindy Walters Austin of Kannapolis.

He attended Salisbury High and West Rowan High Schools. He also attended Fruitland Bible College. He was employed as a journeyman electrician. He enjoyed landscaping and yard work.

He deeply loved his children.

Survivors in addition to his parents are two sons, James Christian Austin and Sye Johnson Austin both of Kannapolis, three daughters, Mili Hannah Austin, Jayna Catherine Austin and Eliza Jane Austin all of Kannapolis. His sisters, Deborah K. Horne and husband James of China Grove, April A. Young of China Grove. and Crystal Austin of Thomasville. He is also survived by his step-mother, Kimberly Austin of Pine Mountain, Ga. and aunt, Sallie W. Pantanella of Pittsburgh PA, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service to celebrate James’ life will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
