James Claymon Kiker

Obituary: James Claymon Kiker, 78, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2018 at CHC-Northeast Medical Center, Concord following a period of declining health. James was born March 9, 1940 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Benjamin Kiker and Della Honeycutt Kiker. He was a member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men. James was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He served tours in Germany and England. He was a member of American Legion Post #115 in Kannapolis. James was employed at Cannon Mills Plant #1, #7 Spinning Room, retiring with 46 years' service. He also worked at Lowes in Kannapolis and Huntersville. He was lastly employed at Walmart in Kannapolis for eleven years. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church conducted by the Revs. Joseph Hardin and Raymond E. Davis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Cabarrus Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Monday, April 23, 2018. At other times they will be at the residence. Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years; Faye Brumley Kiker , two sons, Jeffery Wayne Kiker (Tammy) of China Grove and Richard Brumley of Kannapolis, two daughters, Sherry Baxley of Salisbury and Crystal Kiker of Kannapolis and one brother, Wesley Kiker of Kannapolis.
