Obituary: James Arnold Martin, 84, of Kannapolis died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at CMC-NorthEast. He was born June 11, 1930 in Iredell County, the son of the late Lee and Louise Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Tarlton Martin. James retired from Lance, Inc. after many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and raising small chickens. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 23, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel officiated by Rev. Chris O'Guin. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Friday prior at Whitley's Annex Chapel. He is survived by three children, James Michael Martin, Ginger M. Overcash (Gene), and Terry Wayne Martin, 4 grandchildren, Jason, Christina, Josh and Whitney and 6 great grandchildren.
