James Dwight Measmer

Obituary: James "Jim" Dwight Measmer, 65, of Landis passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at his home. He was born November 13, 1945 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late James Olin Measmer and Faye Louise Moody Measmer. Jim was employed with Advantage Truck Center as a sales representative. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era from 1966-70. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Concord. Jim was very much a people person, loved playing golf and flying his kites at the beach. He especially loved his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel officiated by Rev. Virginia Herron and Rev. Andy Conder. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. He is survived by his wife Jeanie McDaniel Measmer, his son Bryan Scott Measmer and fiancé Caren Bates of Kannapolis, his daughter Mikki Measmer Ayers and husband David of Huntersville, two grand-daughters Julie Ann and Samantha Ayers, his sister Betty Spears of Kannapolis and his brother Ronald Measmer of Concord.
