James Franklin Frank Pethel, Sr.

Obituary: James Franklin (Frank) Pethel Sr., 76, of 6310 Charlie Walker Rd. Kannapolis died Friday January 15, 2010 at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. He was born Dec. 9, 1933 in Rowan County, the son of the late Harry and Ethel Goss Pethel. He was preceded in death by a son James F. (Frankie) Pethel Jr., grandsons Jamie Pethel and Jason Pethel, and two brothers Harry Pethel Jr. and Jerry Pethel. He had formerly owned and operated Pethel's Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge in Mooresviile for many years. He also loved working on cars and lawn mowers through the years. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday Jan. 19, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Chris Pethel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Monday at Whitley's. He is survived by his daughter Trina Pethel and Eric of Kannapolis, grandson Phillip Poe of Kannapolis, 3 great-grandchildren: Skyler, Davie and Lexie, and his sister Patsy Stiller of Salisbury Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081.
