James Robert Sawyer

Obituary: James Robert Sawyer, 68, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Sawyer was born June 27, 1945 in Watauga County to the late Earnest and Mary Sawyer. He was the husband of the late Frances Sawyer who preceded him. Mr. Sawyer was a member of Rowan Christian Assembly; was a painter and worked in maintenance for many years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Survivors include his son; James Robert Franklin (Tracy) ; three daughters, Crystal Childress, Wanda Childress (Phillip), and Teresa Miller (Paul); ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Sheets and Nancy Key; and a brother, Junior Sawyer. A private service will be held for Mr. Sawyer. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the Sawyer Family
