James C. Sellers, Jr., 82, of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Friday evening, January 10, 2025, at his home, surrounded by love, following a period of declining health.

Born February 7, 1942, in Chesterfield County, SC, James was a son of the late J.C. and Emma Leona Sellers.

Mr. Sellers retired from Cannon Mills after more than 40 years of faithful service, with most of his tenure being in a supervisory position.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Jim found his greatest joy in his family. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. He was always there to lend an ear, share a story, or offer his guidance.

Jim had a deep connection to the outdoors, whether casting a line at his favorite fishing spot, taking a trip to the mountains, or simply sitting quietly to watch wildlife. Jim found peace, fulfillment and contentment in nature.

Family members include his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia Furr Sellers; his daughters, Aprille Martin and Angela Beaver (Jon); son, Michael Sellers (Mary Ann); his grandchildren, Jason Sellers (Jessa), Max and Sam Sellers, Adriana Wright (Zach), Grayson Mullis, and Braxton and Brinleigh Beaver; great-grandchildren, Emilia and Aurora Sellers; his brother, Ronnie Sellers (Tina); and extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm Thursday, January 16th, at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 pm, at Carolina Memorial Park, where Jim will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
