James Villard Sheets

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC James Villard Sheets, 92, of Kannapolis, died Friday, August 24, 2018, at his home with his family by his side, after a period of declining health. His funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, August 28,2018 at Living Water Church of God with Rev. Wade Easom and Gary Sheets officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. His family will receive friends at the church starting at 2:00 PM Tuesday. James was born December 10, 1925 in Wilkes Co., a son of the late Carson and Thelma Denton Sheets. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and Bruce Sheets and his sisters, Cleo Adcock and Opal Bradley and his grandson Bryon Christopher Sheets. James was a longtime area resident and attended Living Waters Church. He drove a truck for Martin-Marietta Aggregates for 25 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed music and spending time with his family. James will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for everyone he met. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, but most importantly he loved Jesus. James will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ethel Hinson Sheets of the home. His 3 sons, Ronald Sheets (Carol), Donald Sheets (Sheila), Gary Sheets (Cheryl) and his daughter, Kim Sheets Dawsey (Autry), his 8 grandchildren are Dale Sheets (Tiffany), Ashley Eudy (Chad), Sommer Channell (Jason), Evan Sheets, Audie Dawsey, Chelsea Dawsey-Dutch (Zack),Creighton Dawsey and Brian Barnes and his 4 great-grandchildren.
