James Shinn, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday 20, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side after a period of declining health. James was born on November 2, 1939 in Iredell County the son of the late James Landers Shinn and Ludie Lecie Ballard Shinn. He retired from Hoechst Celanses Corp. in training and development. James was a member of World Hope Worship Center.
James was a gifted evangelist and touched many lives through his ministry. He never met a stranger and always had a word and message to give at the right moment. He was an avid and talented trumpet player.
The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home on Friday July 23, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A celebration of life for James will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at World Hope Worship Center. The church is located at 2203 Mooresville Rd. in Salisbury conducted by Pastor Bob Bankhead. Mr. Shinn will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Those left to cherish the memories of James include his wife; Jackie Shinn, daughter Gwen Faggart (David), son Robert Shinn and Tim Pate (Kaye), daughter Jamie Shinn; grandchildren, Donnie Phillips (Elizabeth), Christina Tucker (Tony), Josh Faggart (Kat), Bethany Laughter (Larry), Lyndsey Shinn, Ashley Shinn, Austin Shinn, Jordan Pate, Makenna Pate (fiance' Chandler), Natalie Winecoff (Tony), Emily Winecoff, Chloe Winecoff, and Dakota Winecoff; and 14 great grandchildren.
