James Rayven Shuffler

Obituary: James Rayven Shuffler, 78, of Concord died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at CMC-NE after an unexpected illness. His funeral will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, Dec. 26 at Sharon Baptist Church (2628 Shady Lane Ave., Concord, NC 28027) with Rev. James Strickland, Rev. Christopher Shuffler and Rev. Leon Smith officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the funeral. James was born January 4, 1937 in Rowan Co., the son of the late C.G. and Louvine Teeter Shuffler. He was a life-long area resident and member of Sharon Baptist Church and was a former member of Central Baptist Church. James enjoyed traveling and going to the beach, fishing and farming. He loved his Lord and his beloved wife, Ellen. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by 2 wives; Ginger Bradshaw Shuffler and Lilly Dean Watts Shuffler. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Crisco Shuffler of the home, his Children; Cynthia S. Durham (Danny) of China Grove, Phil Ray Shuffler (Patty) of Rockwell, James Dale Shuffler (Wanda) of China Grove, Rev. Christopher Carrol Shuffler (Larissa) of China Grove, John Stephen Shuffler (Casey) of Faith and step-children Michael Self (Sharon) of China Grove, Larry Smith (Tina) of Rockwell, Linda Black (Ben) of Pilot Mt., Brenda Ashby of Rockwell, Robert V. Smith of Concord, Ellen Johnson (Steve) of Concord and Doug Lee Smith of Charlotte. James was proud of his 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
