James Lee (Jim) Troutman

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- James Lee (Jim) Troutman, age 72, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Five Oaks Manor, Concord, NC after a brief illness.He was born October 4, 1938 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Leona Helms Troutman of Kannapolis and the late Lee Kyle Troutman. Jim was a 1956 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and attended Brevard College. He then joined the U.S. Air Force. Jim was retired from Sears, Inc. of Concord, NC. In earlier years he worked for Canteen Vending, Greenville, SC for many years. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC. One of his great joys was looking after his late Uncle Paul Helms. Jim had a great love for fishing especially at the coast. His family fondly remembers his love for family and following Carolina Tarheels Basketball. His family is comforted by his strong faith and knowledge in knowing that God would take care of him. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2011 at Midway United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Burt Williams. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service. Survivors in addition to his mother include his son, Robert Lee Troutman of Kannapolis, NC; his sister, Joann Lippard & husband, Phil of Concord, NC; grandsons, Easton L. Troutman and William L.
