James Eugene Wellman

Obituary: James E. Wellman age 84 of Concord died March 1, 2011 at CMC NorthEast Medical Center, Concord after a short illness. Mr. Wellman was born in Cabarrus County September 14, 1926 to the late Lee Wellman and the late Ollie Nash Wellman. He was educated in the Cabarrus County schools and Evans Business College. He was employed with Ronson Hydraulics as a purchasing agent for 30 years retiring in 1991.Mr. Wellman served his country with the U.S. Army during WW ll. He loved high school football and all other sports. Funeral services will be Friday March, 4, 2011 at 11:00 A M at Bethpage United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Coppley and Rev. Duane Melton. The Body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Thursday 6:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park with military rites by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Wellman was preceded in death by his wife Betty Wellman in December 2009. He is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Tillman of China Grove, Cathy Baucom of Supply, N.C. and Tami Williams of St. Louis Mo. Two Sisters, Margaret Steen of Kannapolis and Hazel Green of Charlotte. Two Brothers, Robert Wellman and Charles Wellman both of Landis. Also 6 Grandchildren, Shane Johnson, Eric Johnson, Ronnie Paxton, Mandy Paxton, Stephanie Guyot,and Staci Guyot. Three Great Grandchildren also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to: Bethpage United Methodist Ch. 109 Fellowship Ave. Kannapolis, NC 28081 On line condolence may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home

Service: 11:00 AM Friday, March 4 at Bethpage United Methodist Church

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park
