James Wiley

Obituary: James M. Wiley, Jr., 84, of Harrisburg, formerly of Kannapolis, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at CMC-Northeast Medical Center. Death was unexpected. He was born January 20, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, NC son of the late James M. Wiley, Sr. and Essie Skidmore Wiley. James was of the Baptist Faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the Good Luck Hunting Club for many years. He always raised a big garden. James was a retired roofer who was employed by RST Corp. for over 30 years. He later retired as warehouse manager. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Kirkman Love Wiley who preceded him in death May 1, 2013 and a sister, Sarah Ameta Kistler. Survivors include a son, Ronald Wiley (Susan) of Rock Hill, three daughters; Bonnie Logan of Huntersville, Sue Wiley of Stanley and Ameta Starkey (Jorge) of Iron Station. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Pamela Franklin (Daniel) of Charlotte, Chris Wiley (Lacey) of New Salem, Angie Wiley of Waxaw and Michelle Robbins of Iron Station, eight great grandchildren, two step-daughters, Kim Sechler (Bobby) of China Grove and Teresa Beaver of Kannapolis, three step grandchildren; Chris Sechler of Rockwell, Craig and Nikki Sechler of China Grove, and Jeremy Beaver of Harrisburg. Three step great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 27 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jeff Simpson.
