James "Mark" Allen

James Mark Allen, 61, of Salisbury, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Tucker Hospice House, after a brief battle of severely declining health.

Mark was born October 4, 1962 in Salisbury to Hoylene Overcash Allen and the late James Lee Allen. On September 11, 1982 he married Angela Beaver and they would have celebrated their 42nd anniversary this year.

Mark was a dedicated maintenance technician for Food Lion for over 30 years before transitioning into a role with the Rowan Salisbury School District. He had many hobbies. Whether it was painting nature portraits, building things around his home, woodworking, or building LEGO sets, you could always find Mark tinkering and working with his hands. Mark was a dedicated member of Liberty Baptist Church in Mooresville, and always made sure his loved ones knew he was thinking of and always praying for them.  Mark was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father James Lee Allen.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years Angela Beaver Allen; one son, Christopher Allen (Brittany); one granddaughter, Rylee Allen; his mother, Hoylene Overcash Allen; two sisters: Tonya Hawkins (Tony) and Sandra Moore, as well as several nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church in Mooresville with Rev. Eddie Graham officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday August 12, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis.
