James "Shorty" Keith Parks

James “Shorty”  Keith Parks, 81, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Atrium Health Cabarrus, Concord. Death was unexpected.

James was born July 22, 1938 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late James Robert Parks and Lula James Parks. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Helms Parks on January 5, 1998.

He was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam Era. He had been an owner/operator of a record sales store.

Survivors include two sons, Scottie Parks of Concord and Brian Parks of China Grove. He is also survived by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jonathan Barnette.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coltrane Life Center, 321 Corbin Avenue SE, Concord, NC 28025
