Obituary: Jane Kathryn Francis, 57, of Kannapolis, NC passed away at CMC-NorthEast in Concord, NC on April 5, 2015. Ms. Francis was born on Sep. 18, 1957 in Germany, the daughter of the late Robert Franklin Francis and the late Imogene Reid Brown Francis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her younger sister, Beth Walker. Jane was a giver and a fighter. She would give you the clothes on her back even if she needed them. She continued her "fight" despite her circumstances and never gave up. Jane valued teaching people how to accept diversity; by respecting the handicaps and unique qualities in everyone. She taught many how to show grace and kindness during her service as a social worker. Jane was fascinated by the interworkings of life. She was passionate about sociology and psychology. Jane greatly enjoyed spending time with her three dogs and she was an avid collector of butterflies. Jane is survived by one sister and three brothers: Teresa Childers, of Beaufort, SC; Jeff Francis and Robert Francis, of Kannapolis, NC; and Tom Francis, of Allen, Texas. She is also survived by four nieces, six nephews, five great-nieces, and four great-nephews. A memorial graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Dr. Tom Cabaniss. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home, Wednesday night, April 8th from 6-8:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of her brother, Jeff Francis, 6410 Miller Rd., Kannapolis.
