Janet Lynn Davis Burleyson

Obituary: Janet Lynn Davis Burleyson, age 49, past peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at her home. She was born October 26, 1959 in Iredell County, NC, the daughter of the late Harry Dallas (Punk) Davis and Sue Carpenter. She was employed with area What-A-Burger restaurants for 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and her grandchildren as precious times in her life. She also enjoyed the company of her special canine companion, Cheyene. There will be no funeral service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home and will receive friends at the home the remainder of the time. Burial will be at a later date. In addition to her parents she is preceded by her stepfather, Fred Carpenter. Survivors include her husband of 8 years, Terry Joe Burleyson; her son, Terry Davis of Salisbury, NC; her daughter, Shelby Smith of Kannapolis, NC; her step-son, Casey Burleyson of Ft. Drum, NY; her step-daughter, Andera Burleyson of Maryland; her sister, Charlotte Beam of Kannapolis, NC; her grandchildren, Christiana, Kolby, Tyler, Alexis, Brian, Emma, Andrew, Alicia, Raul, and Cesar; her nephew, Shane Douglas of China Grove, NC; and a special son, David Nance of Concord, NC Memorials may be made to the Blumenthal Cancer Center, Carolinas Medical Center, 1000 Blythe Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203 On-line condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
