Janet Ratliff Culpepper, 72, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Janet was born on July 21, 1951 in Americus, GA, the daughter of the late Henry and Rose Ratliff of Plains, GA.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jill Culpepper of Kannapolis, NC; son, Grant Culpepper; grandchildren, Chloe and Carmen Culpepper of Westville, FL. She is also survived by siblings Teresa Street of Morehead City, NC, David and Ellen Ratliff of Plains, Patsy and Robert Gerbert of Albany, Ga, Ruth and Steve Johnson of Longmont, CO, and Alan Ratliff of Andersonville, GA. and many nieces and nephews.
Janet graduated from Plains High School in 1969 and Georgia Southwestern College in 1972 as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, GA, Warm Springs, GA, St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA and retired from Gulf Coast HCA in Panama City, FL in 2019. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Americus, GA and St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Panama City, FL. Janet was dedicated to her work and devoted to her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother, fondly known as “Nannette.” She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, 421 Edgewood Lane, Albany, Georgia 31707. Burial will be held at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains, GA.
