Janet Faye Jarvis Diggs

Obituary: Janet Faye Jarvis Diggs, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 7, 2016 at her home. She was born September 18, 1952 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Luther Roy Hatley and Mary Mainer Hatley. Janet was a homemaker for the last twenty years. She grew up in Stockton, CA with her Mama and Step-Dad, Mike Jarvis, and later moved back to North Carolina with her Mama to be closer to relatives. In California she enjoyed participating in theater, playing sports, and singing. She loved to be on the stage. Her grandfather, the late J.E. Mainer, was a musician. In 1971 she moved back to NC and eventually married her husband, Ralph, of forty-one years. Her life was her family and her love for the Lord. Her husband of forty-one years was her everything. She loved him with everything she had. She never met a person without a smile on her face. And there wasn't a face she met that didn't become her friend. Her light and energy exuded from her along with contagious laughter. She was filled with wisdom beyond her years and would gladly share it with whoever would listen. Her love for the Lord was expressed in everything she said. We find solace in knowing that she is at the right hand of our Lord and Saviour all the while knowing that she is watching over us. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Mike Hubbard. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery, Concord, NC. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her husband, Ralph W. Diggs; her children, Shane Diggs & wife, Heather of Charlotte, NC and Kelli Diggs Nordman of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Tyler, Sadie, Valerye, Delilah, and Savannah; brothers, Roy Edward Hatley, Steve Jarvis & wife, Sherrie, and Doug Jarvis & partner, Todd Barnhardt; and one sister, Dianne Hatley of Harrisburg, NC; and numerous nieces & nephews along with great-nieces & nephews.
