Obituary: Janet (Bobbie) Crider Smith, age 90, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Bob & Carolyn Tucker House, Kannapolis, NC. She was born August 12, 1919 in Franklin County, Georgia, the daughter of the late James A. Crider and Mary Etta Phillips Crider. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, NC. She has lived in this area since the early 1980's moving here from Charleston, SC. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at First Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. James Matchette and Dr. Forbis Kivett. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her husband, Blanton Smith, daughter, Rebecca Harrington & husband, Jerry of Lexington, NC; son, Blanton J. (Sonny) Smith & wife, Pat of Mystic, CT; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wallace Crider & wife, Minnie of Hartwell, GA.
