Obituary: Kannapolis, NC -- Janice Bowles Link, 79, of Kannapolis went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 21, 2017 from Tucker Hospice House after a long courageous battle with cancer. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 24 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. James Pauley officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 23. Janice was born May 21, 1938 in Rowan Co., a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Bowles and Addie Wike Bowles. She was a lifelong area resident, and a longtime member of Faith Baptist Church. As a 33 year employee of Cannon Mills, she worked as a pillowcase hemmer, retiring in 2000. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be remembered for her love of sewing and quilting, for her family. She also loved to garden and grow flowers. Janice will be dearly missed by her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 61 years, Stanley E. Link of the home, her daughters; Debbie Helms (Scott) of Kannapolis and Teresa Petty of Seneca, SC, her grandchildren; Tonya Greene of Kannapolis, Chris Helms (Jean) of China Grove, Stephanie Shulick (Eric) of Seneca, SC, her great-grandchildren; Tyler Greene and Peyton Shulick, her sisters; Ruth Reynolds of FL, Eloise Wheeler of Indian Trail and many loving nieces and nephews. The family wants to thank Dr. Steffens and staff and the staff at Tucker Hospice House for all the love and care shown to Janice and her family throughout her battle with cancer.
