Obituary: - Jean B. Robson, age 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. She was born March 26, 1935 in Moosic, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late William Butts and Minnie Evans Butts. She had lived in Kannapolis since 1980 moving here from Newark Valley, New York. Jean's most important role in life was taking care of her family and others. She was a church secretary for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, camping, and bird watching. Jean was a member of the Poplar Tent Home Extension Club, Red Hats Society, and was a volunteer with both CVAN and Hospice of Cabarrus County at one time. She also served as a foster parent to nineteen children and one exchange student. Jean Robson's life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Billy Carey and Rev. Joe Harding. Inurnment will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the National Cemetery Columbarium, Salisbury, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, October 25, 2013 and again from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. She was the devoted wife for 58 years to Hank Robson and loving mother of Deborah (Robert) Billings and Timothy (Deborah) Robson. She is also the proud grandmother of five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Jean is also survived by one sister and two brothers.
