Obituary: Jeanette Caldwell Brown, age 85, of Landis died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Laurels of Salisbury after a period of declining health. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home with Pastor Peter Feige officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Concord. Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday prior to the funeral. Jeanette was born September 10, 1930 in Rowan Co., a daughter of the late W.A. and Lottie Mae Garver Caldwell. She was a life-long area resident and long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Concord. Jeanette worked for Cannon Mills in Plant #1 Ticket Office for 42 years. She loved traveling and camping with her husband, Carl "Harold" Brown, who preceded her in death in 2009. She was a loving wife, sister and aunt. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her 2 sisters; Margaret Caldwell Gullet (Walter) of Landis and Martha Caldwell Culligan of VA Beach, VA. Jeanette is also survived by 3 nieces and 3 nephews and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews and her very special friend, C. H. Fisher of Concord.
