Obituary: Jeff Davis, 56, of Kannapolis, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House after a brief period of illness. A funeral service celebrating Jeff's life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 18 at Whitley's Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Shinn and Rev. Clint Talbert officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home, prior to the funeral. Jeff was born June 28, 1962 in Kittery Maine, a son of the late Hillard B. and Dorothy Dickerson Davis. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Foranda and his brother-in-law, Ed Parson and his special fur friend "Rocky". Jeff was a longtime area resident and worked for many years with various local contractors as a painter and a carpenter. He enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking for his family and friends. Jeff loved his family and will truly be missed and forever live in the hearts of his loved ones. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Parson Davis of the home, his daughters; Teka Davis (Hunter Thompson) and Ashlyn Davis, both of Kannapolis, 2 grandchildren Jackson and Paisley Thompson, his brothers Mike Davis (Carmen) of N.H. and James Davis of Kannapolis, his sisters-in-law Dolly Brock (Chuck) of Concord, Laura "Sam" Rodgers (Steve) and Eunice Branton (Bill), both of Kannapolis and his brother-in-law "Pete" Parson (Reta) of Rockwell as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friends; Betty, Nick and Anthony.
