Obituary: Robert Jeffery "Jeff" Hartsell, 57, of Garden City, SC, formerly of Kannapolis passed away peacefully Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home. His death was unexpected. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 6pm at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel followed by a greeting of family and friends until 8pm. Jeff was born July 15, 1959 in Alamance County to Otis J. Hartsell and Frances Weaver Hartsell. He is preceded in death by his father, O.J. Hartsell, Maternal grandparents, Leroy & Ethel Weaver, and Paternal grandparents, Clinton & Wilma Hartsell. He graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School and lived the majority of his life in Kannapolis where he raised his family, was involved in the Dixie Youth Baseball League, and was an integral part of his extended family. Regardless of the employment he had at any time, Jeff was known for his ability to be a meticulous carpenter and spotless housekeeper. He is survived by his mother, Frances W. Hartsell of Kannapolis, sons, Ryan Hartsell and wife, Sarah of Richmond, KY, and Pat Drinkard and wife, Kenda of Kannapolis, sisters, Debbie McAnulty and husband, Denny of Concord, and Lori Rodgers and husband, Chuck, brother, Tony Hartsell and wife, Nancy of Kannapolis, grandsons, Chase and Landon Drinkard of Kannapolis, a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews that will miss him greatly. He will also be missed by many friends he made in Florida and South Carolina. A memorial service to celebrate Jeff's life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at McMillan -Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach, SC at 1pm.
