Obituary: Jeffrey T. Smith, 43, of Kannapolis passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 21, 1970 in Florence, SC, the son of Joan Collins Smith of Kannapolis and the late James Alan Smith. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Alan Smith, Jr. Jeff was owner of Superior Landscaping Services. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a moderator for the N.C. Sportsman magazine. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he was an elder. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 31st at Second Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Howard Tyas and Pastor Lou Pfeiffer. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Whitley's Funeral Home. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Krista Krumenacker Smith, his daughter, Emily Nicole Smith, and his brother, Jody Smith and wife, Lynn of China Grove. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staffs at CMC-NorthEast and Bayada Home health for their love and care shown Jeff.
